Policy:

Any student that does not cancel prior to the required deadline will be assessed a minimum fee of $150 for classes. Deadline dates are posted with the Registrar Office (606-539-4316), Bursar Office (606-539-4472), and on the university website at http://www.ucumberlands.edu/financialaid/downloads/refund-policy.pdf .

Withdrawal/
Refund Policy for Courses Fifteen (15) Weeks or Greater in Length:

  1. If a student withdraws from the institution on or before the first day of classes or fails to begin classes, the refund shall equal the sum of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period of enrollment less an administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  2. If after classes have commenced and before expiration of 6.25% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 100% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  3. If after expiration of the 9.37% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 80% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  4. If after expiration of the 15.59% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 60% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  5. If after expiration of the 21.84% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 40% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  6. If after expiration of the 28.09% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 20% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  7. If after exceeding 28.09% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 0% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.

PLEASE NOTE:

Students must officially withdraw through the Office of Academic Affairs (606-539-4498); students who fail to officially withdraw forfeit all rights to a refund or reduction in fees. Courses Greater than Six Weeks but Less than Fifteen Weeks in Length

 

  1. If after classes have commenced and before expiration of 15% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 100% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  3. If after classes have commenced and before expiration of 25% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 80% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  4. If after classes have commenced and before expiration of 37.5% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 60% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.
  5. If after classes have commenced and before expiration of 50% of the period of enrollment for which he or she was charged, a student withdraws, drops out, is expelled, or otherwise fails to attend classes, the refund shall equal 0% of all amounts paid or to be paid by or on behalf of the student for the period less administrative fee of $100.00 for the fall/spring terms and a $50 fee for summer and bi-terms.

I hereby agree that, upon signing this document, I give University of the Cumberlands the permission to disclose any, and all, academic information requested by the State of Tennessee Department of Education.
